We aim to preserve old diving gear and to tell to the general public how diving was done in the days gone by. We focus on professional diving and on the early days of Finnish recreational diving.
Historical Diving Society of Finland (Suomen Sukellushistoriallinen yhdistys) is a small group of people interested in the history of diving and in historical diving equipment. We collect both commercial, military, public safety and recreational diving gear for our private exhibition. Part of our collection is occasionally exhibited in public libraries and in other public places. We also arrange an annual historical diving event (Divers’ day) for the general public.
As a member you have the pleasure to take care of and dive with historical diving gear. You can also reminisce on old days and even write articles on our website. You will also receive invitations to historical diving events abroad.
